Two Bows Boutique was featured in the Craven County Community College insert in the New Bern Sun Journal! October 2006 Running a Global Business from Home By Bob Ericksen There are many success stories about entrepreneurs that have recognized the power of marketing their business from home via the internet and by direct local contact with regional retailers. Kelley Kruzel is one such ambitious young mom working from home and building an interesting wholesale and retail business in customized children’s products. Kelley is the owner and founder of Two Bows Boutique that specializes in creating and producing artistically created personalized and customized children’s clothing, accessories, and gifts that are offered wholesale to higher end children’s shops. Her secondary sales targets are family and friend relations that want to buy special gifts for little boys and girls in their lives in the toddler to age 10 group. The company also loves to produce interesting products for special occasions, such as showers, weddings and other social and family events. Kelley began working from home while also guiding the growth of her 4 children along with the support of her husband Jason. Kelley is a graduate of the Small Business Center’s Entrepreneur Academy and continues to work hard at finishing her business plan. Jason also attended our web-site development seminar and is the web designer for the business. The interesting name for the newly formed company comes from a conversation Kelley had with her daughter Grace who asked for two hair bows instead of the one bow being tied to her locks. The company’s marketing plan is built around an ambitious strategy to wholesale her wares, which she produces at home, to local boutiques and also via the Two Bow’s web site to national boutiques. Their business plan calls for accomplishing a sustainable competitive edge through good customer service, fast product delivery (Kelley promises two week turnaround of paid orders) and highest product quality. There are early signs of a successful marketing strategy for the company as steady amounts of orders are already flowing into the newly formed operation from stores that retail her products. Early signs of success can also be seen in the repeat orders that are beginning to flow. In the near future look for Two Bows to have a booth in local trade shows, craft shows and maybe even at the Farmers Market and the Mum Fest in October. We can see the early signs of success in this fledgling company, as it joins the many home-based businesses in our county. Let’s wish Kelley and Jason global success in their adventure. Two Bows Boutique is hosting a "Make and Take" Korker night at Hour Little Hangout (Westbrooke Shopping Center) Havelock, NC on Sept 25 from 7-9. Learn the tricks of the trade for making beautiful korker bows for the princess in your life. Only $10 at the door and you get to create 2 unique korker bows to take home. Samples of all of Two Bows Boutique's items will be there, most will be available to take home that night! Update: We had a great turnout on the 25th. We had 10 ladies show up, each getting to make 2 korker bows. We all learned that night that regular lighters are NOT fun to heat seal the ends of the ribbon :) Here are some pictures from our night. Thanks everyone for coming. Watch for Two Bows again in November.
